On March 7th, 2023, I had the great honor of receiving the SRBE/KVBE1 award for my Master’s thesis. This recognition inspires me to keep pursuing impactful research.
My thesis, available here, was recognized for its innovative approach. The work focused on Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES), where I used artificial intelligence and optimization techniques to improve the efficiency and planning of PHES. Neural networks modeled the efficiency curves of PHES units, which were then integrated into an optimization framework for better day-ahead scheduling.
Receiving this award as a young engineer from highly experienced peers is a meaningful milestone. It motivates me to keep striving for research that makes a positive impact on our world.
